Written for the situation and about a minute to pray. Words for the morning your mind starts before you do, or the evening you have nothing left.
Amen
The prayer’s Amen closes the day. A closed day tells you what comes tomorrow and offers a little more if you have the time: the chapter, a prayer for someone, a short reading.
Chosen for what you told us
Upheld begins with a few questions, about two minutes. The one that shapes everything is what weighs on you most these days: anxiety, exhaustion, your marriage, your kids, money, loss, feeling far from God, and more. You choose up to three.
- Your thirty days are built from those answers. The first week stays with what you named; after that it comes back three days in seven, and the other days open onto the rest of life.
- Each topic has its own prayers, and none repeats until you have prayed them all.
- Your verse arrives at the time you picked, written out in the notification itself.
- When life changes, answer the questions again and a new thirty days is built. Nothing you have written or kept is lost, and your answers never leave your iPhone.
Hear it read, in a natural voice
Prayers, readings and chapters of the Bible are read aloud in a calm, natural voice, recorded ahead of time. Not the flat voice your phone reads with.
- The verse being read stays on screen, so you can follow along or just listen.
- It keeps playing with the screen locked and the ring switch off, and pauses from the lock screen.
- Start a chapter from any verse, and close the player to go on reading while it plays.
- Each recording downloads the first time you play it and then stays on your phone.

Upheld counts what you actually read, verse by verse: a verse counts once it has been on screen long enough to read. A quick scroll past does not.

Where the words come from
Scripture in Upheld is the Berean Standard Bible, a modern translation made from the Hebrew and Greek, with the King James Version one tap away. It is the same Bible anyone else reads. What changes is which passages and prayers reach you first.
The people who make Upheld choose the verses and prayers for each topic, and every Scripture reference is checked against the text in the app before each release.

Why “Upheld”?

The name is about what God does, not what you have to do. Upheld isn’t another “build a habit, keep your streak” Bible app. It is for ordinary days and hard ones: a verse and a prayer each day, with the quiet reminder that you are held up.
Questions
What does it cost?
Upheld is a subscription with a free trial, bought through the App Store. The price for your country is shown on the App Store page and in the app before you pay. Nothing is charged during the trial if you cancel before it ends.
How do I cancel?
On your iPhone open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Upheld, and choose Cancel Subscription. Apple handles billing, so cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Is it only for women?
The topics, prayers and readings are written with women in mind: motherhood, marriage, exhaustion, the seasons that are hard to name. The Scripture is the same Bible anyone reads.
Does it work without a connection?
Yes. The Bible, the plan, the prayers and the readings are all on the phone. Recorded audio downloads the first time you play it; until then the phone’s own voice reads instead.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up, no email and no password. Your answers, highlights, notes and prayers stay on your iPhone. The privacy policy spells out the rest.
Is there an Android version?
Not yet. Upheld starts on iPhone, iOS 17 or later.
Can it help when things are really hard?
Prayer and Scripture can hold you up, and they are not a replacement for a doctor, a counselor or a pastor who can sit with you. If you are in crisis in the United States, call or text 988. If you are in danger, call 911.
